Personally, I respect Sainath a lot, but he does make outlandish claims and moreover he is focussing entirely on the wrong side of the problem. reforms are not causing the problems that he claims. Only reforms when well admistered will solve this issues. The oppossition to reforms (if followed) will keep the poor forever! That is not helpful. What is helpful is to undertake reforms so that everybody gets the fruits of the benefits.
