Coming from India a socialist country (in principle at least after 1991 liberalization) I believed socialism is a necessity for nearly 20 years of my life. But after reading and experiencing how socialism stops achieving the goals of equality rather than helping it I have come to the conclusion that capitalism is a better option. In spite of working towards the progress of the individual capitalism drives innovation, offers challenges thus bringing in economies of scale. Though the aim is individual profit (or few stae holders) it helps collective upliftment and the effects trickle into the entire society. I know there will be people who will debate this and I am ready to fight!
